Saiba Café 🍣🎮: A Neo-Tokyo-Inspired Space in the Heart of Paris by Guru
« If I had to sum up my life today with you, I’d say it’s first and foremost about encounters... ». Each encounter has the potential to mark a new chapter, opening the door to exciting challenges and projects. That’s exactly what happened when ESpot reached out to “Poca” Christian Montoy (co-creator of Guru World) and shared their vision alongside Benoît Theveny “Tev” (Ici Japon, Tous Imparfaits, Keikaku). A thrilling project centered around #OrientalCultures was more than enough to inspire us to merge their ideas with ours and create a one-of-a-kind venue in the heart of Paris!
This new space is called Saiba Café, your new bar and dining area within ESpot, located on Rue de Rivoli in the bustling Châtelet district! Saiba is the Japanese pronunciation of the word “cyber,” a fitting name considering ESpot is one of the leading hubs for gaming and esports in the capital, and Tev has been living in Japan for several years now.
Following our discussions with the various teams involved, a clear concept emerged:

✔ A neo-futuristic ambiance
✔ Unique dishes infused with a Japanese flair
It didn’t take much for Poca to outline the menu, which revolves around a selection of delightfully “fluffy” Japanese buns—crispy on the outside and irresistibly soft on the inside. These rolls are paired with surprising recipes featuring spicy creams, bold sauces, pulled meats, and a variety of shareable plates—perfect for enjoying while watching live matches on-site. 😋
Opening a venue like this often comes with challenges:

➡ How do we handle sourcing and service?
Our expertise in this field allows us to identify potential obstacles and address them effectively. We transformed the space, optimized its layout to ensure functionality, and met our client’s expectations. We also handled staff training, both for the dining and bar areas. And yes, you can also enjoy unique cocktails here, such as the refreshing Wasabi Rail with its zesty kick, or the Electric Mojito, bursting with electrifying flavors. A festive space, created by gamers for gamers!
We take immense pride in seeing Saiba come to life in such a magical place as ESpot, working hand-in-hand with ESpot and Tev to bring their vision to reality.
